Concept Study for the Development of a Qualification Model for a Lunar Rover

Abstract

This paper presents the conceptual design document for the development of a lunar rover. It is the first technical document of its kind produced in Colombia with the clear objective of completing the initial phase of technical validation, identifying mission requirements, and establishing a financial approach for designing and building a rover capable of reaching the lunar surface. This project falls within the framework of international cooperation surrounding the Artemis program, to which Colombia has committed as a signatory country. The results presented in this paper demonstrate the technical feasibility of a project of this nature at this stage, and the conclusions suggest the need for the involvement of other Colombian government entities to achieve the proposed objectives.
