Pilot Test Seeks to Promote Digital Accessibility and Job Opportunities for Blind Young People

Enciso Systems has announced its collaboration with the Secretariat of Social Management and Citizen Participation of Villavicencio to train blind young people in basic computing and web accessibility tests. This initiative seeks to provide essential technical skills and promote digital accessibility. Improving digital accessibility is a social responsibility and a strategic opportunity for companies. The collaboration seeks to develop programs that benefit communities, offering resources, training and decent employment. Enciso Systems reiterates its commitment to working to achieve a positive impact on the lives of blind young people.

Enciso Systems is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Secretariat of Social Management and Citizen Participation of the city of Villavicencio. This strategic alliance marks an important milestone in our efforts to foster inclusion and provide educational opportunities to all members of our community.

Through this collaboration, a pilot test will be carried out that aims to train blind young people in basic computing and web accessibility tests [1]. This innovative program will not only provide participants with essential technical skills for the 21st century, but will also promote digital accessibility, a fundamental aspect of our mission to create an inclusive environment for all.

In an increasingly digitalized world, improving digital accessibility is not only a matter of social responsibility, but also a strategic opportunity for public and private companies. Ensuring that digital products and services are accessible to all people, regardless of their abilities, significantly expands market reach, fosters customer loyalty and improves corporate reputation. By committing to digital accessibility, companies can differentiate themselves from the competition, comply with legal regulations [2], and actively contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and equitable society.

"We are excited to work with the Secretariat of Social Management and Citizen Participation on this very significant project", stated Juan-David Vargas, project coordinator at Enciso Systems. "We firmly believe that technology should be accessible to everyone, and this initiative is an important step towards removing barriers and promoting equal opportunities."

This pilot test represents the first step in what we hope will be a long and fruitful collaboration. We trust that, together with the academy, the state, organized civil society and the productive sector; We will be able to develop and expand programs that benefit communities that require all our support, offering resources, training and decent employment that allow their members to thrive in an increasingly digitalized world.

Enciso Systems appreciates the support of the Secretariat of Social Management and Citizen Participation and reiterates its commitment to working tirelessly to ensure the success of this initiative. We are convinced that, by joining forces, we can achieve a positive and lasting impact on the lives of many blind young people.

Notes

[1] Web accessibility for the blind is essential to ensure that all people, regardless of their visual ability, can navigate and use websites effectively. Implementing features such as screen readers, image descriptions and keyboard navigation allows blind users to access information and services online, thus promoting inclusion and equal opportunities in the digital environment.

[2] Digital accessibility regulations have gained importance worldwide, with legislation such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the United States and the European Union's Web Accessibility Directive, which require that websites and applications are accessible to people with disabilities. In Colombia, Law 1618 of 2013 establishes that all public and private entities that provide services to the public must guarantee the accessibility of their digital platforms. These regulations seek to eliminate technological barriers, promoting inclusion and ensuring that all people can access online information and services equitably.
