Australian Government program Climate FIRST Dashboard to Enhance Climate Finance Transparency in Papua New Guinea
A new digital platform will streamline climate investment tracking for the Papua New Guinea Climate Change and Development Authority (CCDA)

The Dashboard [1] is a key component of the Climate Finance Initiative for Resilience and a Sustainable Transition (Climate FIRST) project, funded by the Australian Government to mobilize international climate finance and accelerate Papua New Guinea’s transition to a climate-resilient economy.
The Climate FIRST Dashboard serves as a centralised digital platform designed to monitor, track, and report on climate finance flows and project pipelines within Papua New Guinea.
By integrating data on international grants, green investments, and government allocations, the system empowers CCDA to make evidence-based decisions and improve transparency for international donors. The platform’s development marks a significant milestone in modernizing the nation’s climate governance infrastructure, replacing fragmented manual reporting with a secure, real-time digital solution.
GGGI Country Representative for Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands, Mr Mohammad Ali Shaikh, said the dashboard is a critical tool for building trust and attracting climate finance.
“This tool will be essential in attracting and efficiently managing the substantial climate finance required to meet the country's ambitious sustainability goals,” he said.
CCDA General Manager Corporate Services Mr Kenneth Wangoro said the platform strengthens institutional capacity.
“This dashboard provides CCDA with the capability to manage complex data with greater accuracy and speed, which is crucial for maintaining the trust of our stakeholders and development partners,” Mr Wangoro said.
