Reduction of technical debt and improvement in user experience in web accessibility applications.
IntermediateAbstract
This project aimed to improve the user experience and accessibility of Bye Bye 404 application, developed by Enciso Systems, through a structured process of technical debt reduction. Bye Bye 404 is a tool for detecting broken links, evaluating accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1), and enhancing search engine optimization (SEO). Using an agile methodology, the internship allowed for a complete refactoring of the frontend, technology updates, and interface redesign to improve performance, maintainability, and usability. Technical ssessments with SonarQube showed complete bug resolution and a 2% reduction in code duplication. An 8.8% increase in code smells was observed, due to the introduction of Tailwind CSS. User feedback, collected through surveys before and after implementation, revealed noticeable improvements in navigation flow, interface clarity, and overall satisfaction. Although accessibility concerns remain partially unvalidated, the enhancements made contribute to a more robust and user-centered application.
